Drax the Destroyer is easily one of the most amazing characters that Marvel has ever adapted onto the silver screen. The character has been played by the actor, Dave Bautista. The MCU has a whole lot of characters just like Dax who are more like comic relief than just plot drivers.
Drax had first come into the spotlight as a small character who had a grudge against the Mad Titan, Thanos in the comic books. Marvel Comics’ creator, Jim Starlin, who had created Drax had wanted Drax to become a supporting character and then be killed off. 1. Flight
Drax could fly in his early incarnations, and he had been overpowered like the all the other Silver Age superheroes. He could fly and also zoom past heroes like Thor.
2. Green Aura
The Aura power is one a new addition to Drax’s skill. When he gets next to Thanos, the character’s body begins to emit a Green Aura. Drax then used this ability for getting closer to Thanos and rip out his heart. The Green Aura makes Drax stronger, and much more durable.
3. Psychic powers
Drax has had psychic powers and could ‘sniff’ out Thanos like a bloodhound. Unfortunately, he does not possess this ability anymore.
4. Shirtless Fighter
The Marvel Studios had been adamant to make sure that Dave Bautista does not wear a shirt while playing the character. There is a reason why Drax is always shirtless. He has been imbued with a skin that is very durable.
5. Energy Blasts
Cosmic Energy manipulation has been reserved for Vulcan and Silver Surfer and once even Drax has it. He could fire concussive energy blasts from his arms.
6. Superhuman Sustenance
Drax does not require food or water, and he can survive in space. The character’s skin and nigh invincibility makes him a Thanos killing machine.
7. A strength that increases with Rage much like the Hulk
This used to be one of Drax’s abilities way before he had been resurrected from his death during the Annihilation arc. The character had lost most of his powers, and he even had a mental capacity of a child. The character had been underpowered, but this is not the worst. Drax had a strength that was directly proportionate to his anger.
8. Can sense the ‘presence’ of Thanos no matter how far he is
Drax had been created by Thanos’ father and also grandfather for defeating Thanos. For killing someone like the Mad Titan, one would need to have an ability to track him down. Thanos has jumped from one planet to another without anyone really noticing. Drax has been endowed with a psychic sense, and he has imprinted on Thanos.
9. Precognition
Drax can not only psychically locate Thanos, he could also deduce through telepathic energy, whowould come into physical contact with the Mad Titan.
10. Superhuman sense of smell
The character’s olfactory nerves are very advanced, and he can sense the presence of Skrulls and even see if weapons are going to be discharged.
Drax had made his latest appearance in the movie Infinity War, and its official synopsis is:
