10 Marvel Characters That Became Better Infinity War (And 10 That Became Worse)

There was a time when Marvel was struggling to stay afloat. Then came Iron-Man with the inimitable Robert Downey Jr in the titular role in 2008. Despite being labeled as a second/third tier hero, the fantastic and entertaining style of filmmaking coupled with the superb performance by the star made the film a success and a phenomenon that the whole superhero fan world took note of. In the process, the Marvel Cinematic Universe was kick-started, unleashing a wave of films that established characters like Thor, the Incredible Hulk, Captain America and others. Soon all of them and other superheroes joined hands as The Avengers, and over the course of the last ten years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has become the dominant force on the box office.

Avengers: Infinity War didn’t just have a record-shattering opening, but, it kept up the momentum and went past the $2 billion landmark on the box office within a month of its release, a feat that not only placed it as the fourth-highest grossing movie ever but, has also garnered a lot of critical appreciation for the non-stop action, great character development and emotional quotient. Using a compact script written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the movie’s directors Russo Brothers, have done an impossible feat with the film, ensuring the balance of a universe full of characters and justifying the mind-boggling hype related to the ten-year build up of a movie, something that most people thought, was undoable.

No doubt the film has done incredibly well and justified the involvement of such a large number of characters and narratives, there are some of the characters who got sidelined in the bid to achieve the mighty goals of Avengers: Infinity War. While these characters might include some of the most crucial MCU heroes, the movie has given prominence to its newer, more obscure characters. Now that the film is approaching the end of its big screen run, we decided to take a look at some of the characters that dominated the film, and also at some who didn’t fulfill their potential.
