The MCU is easily the most famous franchises in Hollywood right now due to their established Universe packed with fan-favourite characters. While all the films movies have been catering to the audiences of almost all age groups, they have made these films fun and light-hearted. But there have been times when brutality and darkness have been shown on screen. One kind of incident is the characters losing their arms or hands, and this had started as a tribute to Star Wars. This is what Kevin Feige said:
“So, I’m obsessed with Star Wars — and it didn’t start out as intentional, but it became intentional. It [Losing an arm] sort of happens in every Star Wars movie, but I was sort of looking at it, ‘Okay, is Phase Two our Empire Strikes Back‘?’ Not really, but tonally things are a little different. Somebody gets their arm cut off in every Phase Two movie. Every single one.”
In light of this, here are 10 characters in the MCU who have lost their arms:
1. Phil Coulson
This character had lost his arm as a result of him trying to prevent the Terrigen Crystal, and this starts to turn his arm into stone. But Mack had his Axe and he then chopped off his arm before his entire body became stone.
2. Cull Obsidian
Wong sent this villain to the North Pole by using the sling ring, and as Obsidian tried to reach out of this portal, Wong had closed it up, and this had cut off his arm.
3. Nebula
She had lost her bionic hand in the very first Guardians of the Galaxy in the battle of Xandar, and she had cut it off for escaping.
4. Yellow Jacket
In the last battle of in the movie, Ant-Man, Scott won against Yellow Jacket by shrinking between the molecules, and he had gone subatomic and also messed up Yellow Jacket’s suit. This malfunction had shrunk his arm.
5. Thor
Loki had cast an illusion for proving that he would betray Thor and in this process, he had chopped off Thor’s hand right.
6. Ulysses Klaue
Ulysses Klaue had lost his arm in the character’s debut appearance by Ultron.
7. Groot
Groot had lost both his arms while had fought Gamora and they grew back again.
8. Malekith
This dark Elf had been attacked by Thor with the two spears on his arms, and then Jane had transported them to another realm.
9. Alrich Killian
Aldrich Killian had fought against Tony and Iron Man had taken a blade out and chopped his burning arm off.
10. Bucky!
He had been experimented upon by Arnim Zola, and this caused him to lose his arm.
