DC Comics came into existence in the 1930s, initially as Action Comics and then it became famous as the Detective Comics. Starting with the big three, Superman, Batman and the Wonder Woman, DC has expanded its character roster tremendously over the decades, and there is no doubt that DC is the world’s biggest comic book publisher today. With great success come great memes, and DC has never failed to provide inspiration to this incredibly resonant form of artistic expression.
