While over the past few years, indie comic publishers have found the attention that they really deserve, the fanbase of comic books chooses between the superhero houses of DC and Marvel. By now, these two giants DC are household names due to their blockbuster movies, unique ability to squeeze themselves into almost all pop-culture conversations and omnipresent merchandise. In so many ways, the companies are very similar. If Marvel had sold a few more comics and DC had released little more successful movies, they would be indistinguishable. This is where the trouble is.
