Marvel Comics have plenty of famous superheroes, and Quicksilver (Pietro Maximoff) is one of them. His debut was in X-Men #4 in March 1962, and he is a creation of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. He has since been given a couple of self-titled series and has generally been featured as a member of The Avengers.
Quicksilver’s superpower is to move at astonishing speeds. He is shown to be a mutant, i.e., a human who is born with inbuilt superpowers. In the comic book narratives from 2015 onwards, he is shown to be a result of a genetic experience by High Evolutionary. Quicksilver is often a part of the X-Men comics and had first appeared as their enemy. Later he became a hero himself. In most versions, he is shown to be the twin brother of Scarlet Witch, Magneto’s son and the half-brother of Polaris.
X-Men movie rights belong to Fox, and the Intellectual Property chaos resulted in the unfortunate revamp of the character of Quicksilver. A great deal of comic book content needed to be revised to take into account the absence of the X-Men and the Fantastic Four from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but, it was the story of Pietro Maximoff which caused us heartache.
Truth be told, nobody wanted to make a choice between Evan Peters and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. They both happen to be excellent actors with great portfolios, and also real-life friends who had teamed up on their own superhero film Kick-Ass. To make these two compete as the same character in rival franchises was heartbreaking and we wished that they both would add some value to the character. Sadly, that didn’t happen.
Here we have compiled some of the most hard-hitting Quicksilver vs. Quicksilver memes to highlight how the two cinematic versions of the character are hilariously different from each other, and how Evan Peters’ version of Quicksilver overtook the MCU version of the speedster in every aspect.
