For many of the Marvel fans, the Iron Man trilogy of movies seem to feel like they happened a really long time ago. The very first Iron movie had released in the year, 2008 and had kick-started the entire MCU.
It was a superhero movie that was based on the Marvel Comics character, Iron Man. The movie had been helmed by Jon Favreau, with the screenplay was written by Hawk Ostby, Mark Fergus, Matt Holloway and Art Marcum. Actor, Robert Downey Jr. had played the role of the character, Tony Stark / Iron Man and he starred with Jeff Bridges, Terrence Howard, Gwyneth Paltrow and Shaun Toub. In the movie, the fans had seen Tony Stark who is a master engineer and an industrialist building his first powered exoskeleton after he had a life-threatening incident and then he becomes Iron Man.
Then came Iron Man 2 in the year, 2010. These events take place six months after the first movie, and Tony Stark is seen resisting all calls by the United States government for handing over the Iron Man technology, and he is also trying to combat his declining health. Here, we see the rogue Russian scientist, Ivan Vanko who developed the very same technology and he also built weapons for pursuing a vendetta against the entire Stark family.
The character, Tony Stark was then seen in the Avengers series of movies, and we will next see the character in the sequel of Avengers: Infinity War next year.
In 2013, Iron Man 3 had released. Here, Tony Stark deals with a lot of posttraumatic stress and disorder that had been caused by all the events of The Avengers and he was seen investigating a string of terrorist attacks that had been led by Mandarin, and he then comes into a conflict with his old enemy, Aldrich Killian.
The Iron Man trilogy had ended five years ago, and since then, we have not heard about any plans for another one of the character’s solo movie.
Tony Stark’s awesome private adventures might have come to an end, but this character’s story does seem to continue to be narrated on the big screen in the MCU.
