The success of Spider-Man’s latest version in the Marvel Cinematic Universe compelled Sony to come up with a Spider-verse. At the time of Sony’s announcement about their plans to make a solo Venom movie, which was scheduled to release on October 5th, 2018, a large number of people were completely taken by surprise. There had been a number of years since the renowned symbiotic supervillain made its last cinematic appearance in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3, and a lot of fans were not hopeful of seeing the widely grinning pearly white teeth for many more years.

The out of the blue come back by the symbiotic villain to the big screen led to a great deal of speculation and rumors. However, one major question which towers over all others is about the version of Venom that we will see in the film?

It has now been clarified that the Venom (Tom Hardy) of the film is going to be the classic, Eddie Brock version. It is not much surprising since he is easily the most famous of them all and has been making a lot of headlines in the comics in recent years. However, it must be brought to the notice of moviegoers and Venom fans that throughout his existence, the comic books have featured numerous fantastic versions of Venom, ranging from crazy to absolutely weird. Most of the superheroes have been depicted as Venoms; there have been female Venoms and even dinosaur Venoms. The only common element which linked them all happens to be the living alien costume.
