
Many Hollywood actors have not been as eager as the others to earn a role in the famous Marvel Cinematic Universe. These celebrities and stars may have even been offered a few roles in the MCU, but they decided to turn the opportunities down and also explore the opportunities to stay with their current projects. There had been times when it has worked out pretty well for the actors, and they have also gone on to create a lot of great roles outside the MCU. However, there have been times, when these actors and actresses have kicked themselves and regretted because they turned down a role which may have led to huge success. 1. JENSEN ACKLES
Ackles has starred in the 14 seasons of the series, Supernatural, and the actor has also carved out a huge big niche. He had initially auditioned for the role of the superhero, Captain America, but the actor had lost the role to Chris Evans. Marvel had then offered him the role of the character, Hawkeye, but he turned the role down.

2. RACHEL MCADAMS
This actress was offered the role of Pepper Potts, Tony Stark’s lover. She had however turned down the role for making the movie, “The Time Traveler’s Wife”. The actress then went on to play the role of Dr Christine Palmer in Doctor Strange.

3. OLIVIA WILDE
This actress was offered the role of Gamorafrom Guardians of the Galaxy. However, Wilde had turned down the role. Zoe Saldana then went on to play this role.

4. MEL GIBSON
This actor was tapped to play the role of Odin in the Thor franchise, but he had turned down this role for many unknown reasons. Anyways, this out great for us, as we saw Anthony Hopkins play the role.

5. JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT
This actor was offered the role of Peter Quill in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. However, he turned down this MCU role to work on The Sin City sequel.

6. JOHNNY DEPP
This Pirates of the Caribbean actor was considered to play the role of Doctor Strange, but he did not take this opportunity because he had commitments to the Pirates franchise.
