It is well-known that all the comic book universes have gods as their strongest characters. While Superman and Wolverine might be among the strongest superheroes, they are not as invincible and powerful as the gods. Both, Marvel and DC have numerous gods, unbelievably powerful beings originating from various dimensions, far away planets and mysterious realms. Some of the inhabit the superhero world and live like mortals whereas others are hardly anything more than an imagination. What would happen if there was a battle pitting them against each other?
Keeping that question in mind, we featured a scenario where Marvel gods took on DC’s cosmic creatures. Let’s see who wins!
1. GALACTUS VS. IMPERIEX
Galactus is a legendary character created by two of the most legendary comic book creators ever whereas Imperiex is a pieced together bad guy from the disappointing DC crossover “Our Worlds At War” from 2000. Although they occupy varying stature among the icons, the two characters are quite identical. In fact, it might be said that Imperiex was DC’s shot at Galactus.
They are both gigantic, world-destroying beings older than anything else in the universe. They play a key role in the universal scheme of things, but, their battle would have a clear result. Despite Imperiex having an army of powerful probes, a huge energy attack can overwhelm him, and Galactus wields the Power Cosmic.

2. ARES VS. ARES
At times, we see real-world gods get featured into the world of comic books, which might result in two different characters bearing the same name. Since the Greek Gods are famous, it is logical that both Marvel and DC have their own adaptations. This also sets up a battle between the DC and Marvel versions of the Greek God of War, Ares.
Since they are the same entity, so they have some similarities, but, they also have a lot of variations. DC’s Ares is a wicked god, and the enemy of Wonder Woman, Marvel’s Ares is like an anti-hero who is more in the warrior mold like Hercules and Thor, instead of being an omnipotent god. DC’s Ares would be able to beat the Marvel version in every arena.

3. THOR VS. SHAZAM
Thor is among the most famous comic book characters, but he is not a unique proposition. DC also has its own God of Thunder, but, he doesn’t shine much in comparison to the real one. Since Thor doesn’t have a clone, there is Shazam who is given powers by a set of gods.
Shazam has enough magical strength to battle someone like Superman, but, it is their connection to lightning that will be decisive in this battle. Thor is the God of Thunder, and he masters lightning, whereas Shazam invokes lightning strikes using a magic word. They are both capable of inflicting great damage, but, Thor will win if he manipulates Shazam’s lightning to turn him back into Billy Batson.

4. STORM VS. ISIS
There are some characters who might not exactly be gods, but, the incredible power wielded by them makes them regarded as gods. Storm can control the weather and is worshipped as a god in her place of origin, Kenya, whereas, Isis is regarded as the goddess of nature among her subjects in Kahndaq. They are both deeply linked to the natural world and have powers much superior to the mortals.
Since she received her powers from a real god, Isis is mightier than the mutant Storm, but, Ororo is way more experienced and adept in fighting than Adrianna Tomaz. If Storm can beat Wonder Woman, the way she did in the DC vs. Marvel during the 1990s, she might not have much difficulty in taking down Isis.

5. Dormammu vs. Anti-Monitor
These two are godlike rulers in their native dimensions where they have been existing for far longer than can be imagined. Dormammu is mightier and deadlier than the worst demons in the known universe, and on the other hand, the Anti-Monitor is regarded as one of the most powerful destroyers in the Multiverse.
Dormammu is a magic-powered entity originating from the Dark Dimension whereas Anti-Monitor is more about technology and he creates devices that channel antimatter energy. In a fight between these two, the whole universe might get destroyed, but, Dormammu will be the resultant winner. Anti-Monitor’s power has limitations, but, Dormammu has no such issues.

6. DARKSEID VS. THANOS
This is the big one and a fight that everybody would love to see. Darkseid and Thanos are quite similar, and the reason is that Jim Starlin created Thanos after the Jack Kirby created Darkseid. They have their distinct strengths and weaknesses, but, if they battle each other, it would depend on various factors.
Despite not being a god, Thanos did emerge as a version of Death once and is nearly immortal. Darkseid is much more powerful in a direct battle. However, that’s where the other factors come into play such as the Infinity Gauntlet which would help Thanos beat Darkseid or the Anti-Life Equation, which would be the end of the game for Thanos. We think Darkseid would win this battle, but, we don’t expect him to be capable of killing Thanos.
