Marvel Cinematic Universe is the biggest and the most successful superhero universe. During the last ten years of its existence, the shared superhero universe has produced 20 films and also various TV shows. There is a massive number of actors, directors, writers, and various other crew members that have been associated with these films and TV shows that have become extremely popular. Before the cinematic release of a film, and after months and even years of waiting for it, there is a proper process that takes place behind the scenes. A crucial part of that process is concept design, where talented concept artists created and hand over numerous concepts related to a particular character’s look in the film. After that Marvel decides which one of the various looks is the best option. At times they make the right choice, but, there are times when the choice is not exactly the best. However, most of the decisions taken by them, eventually work out well.
What happens to the concept art that gets rejected? It stays alive on the internet for the fans to see, appreciate and discuss. Considering the vastness of the MCU, there is a lot of unutilized concept art available for various heroes, villains, and other supporting characters. While the Marvel Cinematic Universe has a very good track record regarding the costumes they present on the big screen, at times, we see that an even better design gets rejected. If you think hard, you might also recall an MCU costume that you really didn’t like much and wish it had been different.
