Harry Potter is an iconic series of fantasy novels penned by British author J.K. Rowling. The novels document the life story of a young and gutsy wizard, Harry Potter, and his all-weather friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, all of whom used to study at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The main premise of the story is about Harry’s battle against Voldemort, a dark wizard who is chasing immortality and wishes to overthrow the Ministry of Magic that rules the world of wizards. His grand aim is to rule all wizards and kill the muggles (non-magical people).
The first novel titled Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone came out on 26th June 1997, and the books became incredibly popular. They received immense critical acclaim and global commercial success. In fact, it won’t be wrong to say that the kind of success Harry Potter books achieved, has been unparalleled for a work of fiction. No wonder, it didn’t take long for Hollywood to take note of the scope that the books offered. Initially, the famous moviemaker Steven Spielberg was interested in turning the novel into a film, but, he wanted to make it an animated film wherein American actor Haley Joel Osment was to voice Harry Potter. Later Warner Bros. turned the novels into a highly profitable franchise comprising of 8 films which jointly earned several billions of dollars on the global box office.

However, what played a great role in the astonishing success of the films was the immaculate casting of each character. In fact, the casting and locations, etc. were so amazing that we don’t think it would have been any better if the actual characters from the novels had taken the human form. A whole generation of readers and moviegoers grew up with Harry Potter, and it is difficult to believe that more than twenty years have gone by since the first Harry Potter novel was published. Acknowledging this special occasion, we decided to go ahead and take a look at how the movie’s actors look now after such a long time. True Harry Potter fans would be delighted to see them!
