Thanos is among the most powerful Marvel Universe characters. He is connected to the Eternals, and Thanos was born with tremendous powers and a penchant for destruction. With time, he only grew stronger, got access to cosmic powers and physical abilities that most others couldn’t even imagine. Right from his birth, Thanos has been among the most dangerous enemies of Marvel’s heroes in the comic books and now movies too. In Avengers: Infinity War, he killed half of the universe’s life in one snap, including many of the heroes. This makes us wonder whether is there anybody who can take on Thanos and beat him single-handedly?
The answer to that question might be found in the DC Universe. DC has various characters with nearly God-like powers and abilities that make them stronger than others (some of them are villains too). Here we present to you 7 DC characters that would be able to actually defeat Thanos.
1. DOCTOR MANHATTAN
Majority of the Watchmen characters are slightly over and above the regular humans who use their combat prowess to become vigilantes. The only member of that bunch who has superpowers is Doctor Manhattan. He makes a great impact too. Doctor Manhattan is able to access almost any power that he wishes for. He has abilities like changing his body, recovering from any kind of injury, and altering reality if desired.
He has beaten beings who could destroy multiverses, all on his own. If Doctor Manhattan were to battle Thanos, it would be a one-sided battle. He is akin to the embodiment of an Infinity Gauntlet, and one snap of Doctor Manhattan would turn Thanos into a tiny pile of ash instantly.

2. THE FLASH
There is plenty of material to talk about the DC Universe speedsters. We could have taken up any of them for this list, but, we will stick to the most famous version of the Scarlet Speedster aka Barry Allen. The Flash runs at extreme speeds, but, the impact of such a power is much more than the TV show suggests.
Barry is capable of leveraging the Speed Force and run faster than one could even imagine. Even if Thanos was equipped with the Gauntlet, The Flash would run so fast that Thanos won’t detect him and he would remove the Gauntlet even before the Mad Titan could use it. Barry would knock Thanos down before he would even realize what hit him.

3. SUPERMAN
There is logic in placing DC’s longest running hero on this list. Superman has nearly infinite powers. Although, it is next to impossible to figure out the extent of his powers, but, there is no doubt about the strength that the Kryptonian has even on a normal level. He can sling a planet over his shoulder, speed through the deep space, and can turn people into ice blocks by merely breathing on them.
A main reason that makes Thanos such a powerful character is his physical strength. He can beat the Hulk on his own. However, we are sure that he won’t be able to beat the Superman in a fist fight, and we know that the Man of Steel has the power to beat bigger and stronger enemies compared to the Mad Titan.

4. BRAINIAC
His name itself clearly indicates that Brainiac is among the smartest beings in the DC Universe. He seems to have access to the entire knowledge that has ever existed, and Brainiac knows every detail about his enemies before they even come face to face with him. What makes things even worse is that Brainiac doesn’t battle his enemies in the traditional style either.
He has superior technology and powers that allow him to simply enjoy seeing his enemies struggle to overcome him. Thanos won’t have any different result because Brainiac would be well aware of his actions and intentions, and he would easily create tech that is strong enough to bring him down. Not only that, Brainiac is physically strong enough to land a punch or two on Thanos.

5. DOOMSDAY
Doomsday is someone who would beat Thanos naturally. He is a huge monster created to learn from his defeats and become stronger. He was created keeping that in mind, and that is why he was strong enough to destroy the Man of Steel. In a battle against Thanos, Doomsday might lose the round one.
However, he would be reborn, and once he comes back, his body would be accustomed to Thanos’ strength, and he would be able to overpower the Mad Titan easily. Doomsday grows in strength with each new battle, and Thanos is always eager to fight. Therefore, it won’t be long before Doomsday destroys him the way he beat Superman.

6. DAMAGE
The Hulk is an incredibly strong being, but, even he couldn’t beat Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. DC has its own character identical to Hulk, and he is called Damage. He is way stronger than the alter-ego of Bruce Banner. Damage has all the powers that the Hulk possesses and some more. He successfully held Wonder Woman back and seems to be even stronger than Superman.
He managed to stop Flash in his sprint, and can easily break the creations of Green Lantern. Damage can only remain in his form for one hour at a time, but, that is more than enough time for him to destroy Thanos.

7. DARKSEID
It is difficult to discuss about Thanos and the DC Universe without a mention of Darkseid. The creators of Thanos were greatly influenced by Darkseid, and it is easy to draw comparisons between the two. However, Darkseid has more powers than his Marvel Universe replica. He has Omega Beams that can obliterate living beings with a single touch.
He is capable of solitarily battling the entire Justice League, a super squad that is way more powerful than The Avengers. Darkseid has the ability to absorb energy from others to feed his own strength. These are the powers that would make Darkseid a clear winner in a one-on-one with Thanos.
