Most actors and actresses have been living their whole lives with superhero characters that they have portrayed. A few of the portals of our favorite superheroes have been spot on, and it was great to see them being brought to life on the big screen.
But a few of the actors and actresses had killed the heroes they played because of their acting and their terrible performances. From Superman’s allies to Batman’s rogues, a few of comics most famous heroes and villains have really suffered from wooden acting and even paycheck performances. In the light of this, here we have for you 10 actors and actresses who were never meant for the comic book world:
1. JENNIFER GARNER IN ELEKTRA
After the character appeared in the Daredevil movie, the actress, Jennifer Garner had a chance to reprise the role of Elektra in her very own movie. The movie was full of problems, from a bad story to very boring action sequences. The actress’ take on this heroine had taken the life out of a previously lovely character.
2. HALLE BERRY IN CATWOMAN
Actresses like Eartha Kitt, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Julie Newmar, have played the role of this character. But Halle Berry’s performance was the worst. The actress’ inability to balance good and bad of Patience had shown in an uneven and incomplete performance.
3. TOPHER GRACE IN SPIDER-MAN 3
Grace was very whiny and not as menacing as his character should have been. Venom was supposed to be a very scary character, but here, Eddie was seen as a very poor character development. Venom does not really come off as a threat to Spider-Man.
4. ALEXANDRA SHIPP IN X-MEN: APOCALYPSE
Storm was a very famous character in most of the comic books, and there is always a lot of expectations when someone plays the role of this character. Shipp just did not live up to it at all. She will reprise the role in X-Men: Dark Phoenix and so we hope she will improve her performance.
5. SYLVESTER STALLONE IN JUDGE DREDD
It was very obvious that he was not interested in playing this chaarcter. All the fans eventually got a good Dredd movie in the year, 2012 with the actor, Karl Urban. There is now a lot of talk about a TV series as well.
6. JANUARY JONES IN X-MEN: FIRST CLASS
The actress had a complete lack of personality when she played the character. This is a huge mark in a very good relaunch of the X-Men franchise. Luckily the character, Emma had died off camera.a
7. JIM CARREY IN BATMAN FOREVER
When Jim Carrey had been cast as The Riddler, the fans were super excited. But the viewers got was a face-pulling extravaganza and nothing else. Mostly there was only weird faces made by the actor. In most scenes, Jim Carrey kept making a very weird face, and it really did not fit the character at all.
8. ALICIA SILVERSTONE IN BATMAN & ROBIN
Barbara’s backstory had been re-written to make the character Alfred’s niece. This was a huge mistake. The character’s mission was to take Alfred away from serving Bruce Wayne. The actress did not seem to want to act well and added no life to the character.
9. JESSICA ALBA IN FANTASTIC FOUR
She may have hidden in the ensemble, but as the movie’s biggest star was just not acting well. While it is not fully her fault, she is in a role that she is not really fit for. She had not taken the complex character and try to relate the character to the comic book counterpart.
10. NICOLAS CAGE IN GHOST RIDER
Nicolas Cage is always Nicolas Cage even when he is playing the role of Ghost Rider. He seemed to have not been interested in the role at all. The visual effects were pretty great, but his performance was very disappointing.
