What Would Happen If MCU Characters Were Cast In DCEU Style

While both Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Extended Universe are based on the comic books from Marvel and DC respectively. However, when it comes to making the superhero films, the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DCEU have vastly different techniques and themes. Consequently, the two shared superhero universes have different casting methods. Although, both the movie franchises feature fantastic and top-rated actors and actresses, it is the Marvel Cinematic Universe that features the American funny actors (Chris Pratt, Paul Rudd), and the upcoming British actors (Tom Hiddleston, Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman, Tom Holland), whereas the DC Extended Universe appears to be more prone to casting little-known actors (Ray Fisher, Gal Gadot) alongside the top talent (Ben Affleck, Amy Adams). It is true that even the Marvel Cinematic Universe has a preference for casting actors named Chris – such as Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, and Chris Pratt, as well as Eccleston, O’Dowd, Fairbank, and Sullivan, whereas there are just two Chris stars in DCEU: Meloni and Pine.

However, what would make things really interesting would be to contemplate what if Marvel’s characters were cast to fit in the DCEU? How would the casting decisions vary to suit the darker and more elaborate style of DCEU? To attempt this imaginary casting, we considered the actors who have so far not been seen in either of the two shared superhero universes. Although these fresh casting choices will be compared with their Marvel Cinematic Universe versions, the recasting is purely a fun exercise to suit the tone of the rival universe and not an endeavor to prove anything or attempt improvement. Marvel Cinematic Universe is huge, and we have focused only on the Earth-based heroes and leading villains (no Guardians of the Galaxy).
