President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the Ukrainian army for their success as he visited the recaptured city of Izium on Wednesday. Thousands of Russian troops fled the town, a key logistics hub in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, over the weekend leaving behind ammunition and equipment in Russia’s worst defeat since they were driven back from the outskirts of Kyiv in March. “The view is very shocking, but it’s not a shock for me because we began to see the same pictures from Bucha, from the first de-occupied territories,” he said as he toured the damage left behind in the wake of the Russian occupation. Izium is located on an important highway that runs from Kharkhiv, Ukraine’s second largest city, to the eastern city of Zloviansk, seized by Russian forces in July. Zelenskyy also visited servicemen in Balakliia, another city in the Kharkiv region that is one of a chain of key urban outposts that Ukraine has recaptured For more info, please go to https://globalnews.ca/news/9127915/zelenskyy-ukraine-counteroffensive-izium-visit/ Subscribe to Global News Channel HERE: http://bit.ly/20fcXDc Like Global News on Facebook HERE: http://bit.ly/255GMJQ Follow Global News on Twitter HERE: http://bit.ly/1Toz8mt Follow Global News on Instagram HERE: https://bit.ly/2QZaZIB #GlobalNews #zelenskyy #ukrainewar
